Watch Colombia vs Peru FIFA SouthAmerican Qualifying Football live streaming

No choice but a triumph

Colombia are compelled to defeat Peru in round 14 at the South American Qualifiers if they want to keep fighting for a place at the 2010 World Cup. The team coached by Eduardo Lara hope to rout already-eliminated Peru in order to keep a little chance to get fifth spot at the South American Qualifiers and face a playoff against a CONCACAF fourth-ranked team.

Colombia rank eighth with 14 points, ten less than leaders Brazil and Paraguay, and three less than fifth-ranked Uruguay; on Wednesday, they will host Peru in Medellin in a bid to put an end to their goal draught, which turned out to be their biggest sin at the Qualifiers.

Coach Eduardo Lara will try a revamp at the offensive, especially after the 1-0 defeat to Argentina in Buenos Aires; the press think he will include Carlos Darwin Quintero (Santos Laguna, MEX) and Hugo Rodallega (Wigan, ENG) in detriment of Radamel Falcao Garcia (River Plate, ARG) and Wason Renteria (Braga, POR).

As for Peru, they are at the bottom of the standings with just 7 points; therefore, they have no chance to go to South Africa next year.

The Peruvian, which were stronlgy criticized by the press after losing 1-2 to Ecuador in Lima, will count on Once Caldas top scorer Johan Fano.

Del Solar's men just won one game at the Qualifiers (against Venezulea); lat time they met Colombia, they drew 1-1.
